TheConfiguration/Release Manager will be responsible for all system configurationsand the maintenance of all system platforms (Development, QA, CERT, DR, andProduction). The qualified individual will own the Release Management life-cyclewhich includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases acrossthe enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios. Thereleases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches,security improvements, hardware upgrades, Projects and Programs. Wherenecessary you’ll provide tools and services to help product management andproject teams manage and deploy releases into production.

Role andResponsibilities:

• Executingdeployments to our various environments (Development, QA,Certification/Disaster Recovery, Production)

• Buildingout our current platform to meet needs within the enterprise.

• Workingwith our development and quality engineering teams to identify and resolvepipeline issues as they arise.

• AssistingProduction Engineering with On Call rotation activities.

•Setup/config/admin configuration management tools like git, cvs, Jenkins, chef,docker, TFS, etc.

• Hands-onexperience integrating configuration management tools (scripting, plug-ins, add-ons,etc)

• Hands-onexperience developing/customizing configuration management tools (scripting,plug-ins, add-ons, hooks, etc)

• Master acouple of programming language (Java, C++, C#, etc.)

• Master acouple of scripting languages (bash, ruby, perl, python, vbs, powershell, etc)

• ForwardPlan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio

• Managerisks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality

• Measureand monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time andthat they meet or exceed expectations

• Coordinaterelease content and effort based on the service request backlog, pendingservice requests, third party applications, or operating system updates

•Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes includingrequirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes

• Managerelationships and coordinate work between different teams at differentlocations

• ConductRelease Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews

•Review/Finalize Deployment and Implementation Plans

• WeeklyRelease Reporting

•Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required

• Negotiate,plan and manage all release activities

• Work withproduction release engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges

• Maintainsthe deployment release schedule for all core services and ensure alignmentacross key partners and vendors.

•Continually work towards making improvements in the release (build/deployment)process

• Lead andco-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deploymentPlans and checklists.

• Developsscripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy softwarereleases to various platforms

•Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks

• Maintainsa release repository and manages key information such as build and releaseprocedures, dependencies, and notification lists

• Researchesnew software development and configuration management methodologies andtechnologies and analyzes their application to current configuration managementneeds

• Ability tosupport a 24/7 environment with rotating on-call schedule

• Ability toshift 5 day work week schedule to accommodate for Sunday deployments once amonth

Qualifications:

• Bachelorsdegree in Computer Science or related field

• 2-6 yearsof previous configuration release and/or project management experience, (Solidunderstanding of project management principles preferred)

• 8-10 yearsof experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysisor development

• Able towrite scripts in hi-level languages (Batch, Ruby, Perl, FoxPro, VBS, Oracle/SQLstored procedures) in order to automate/improve the configuration managementprocesses

• Formaltraining in project management practices preferred

• Advancedknowledge of software development life-cycle

•Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward taskcompletion

•Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills

• Advancedwritten and verbal communication skills are a must

• General PCknowledge including Microsoft Office expert level knowledge of Excel, workingKnowledge of Access

EXPERIENCE

• 2-6 yearsof previous configuration release and/or project management experience, (Solidunderstanding of project management principles preferred)

• 8-10 yearsof experience in information systems operations environment in systemsanalysis, engineering or development

EDUCATION

• Bachelorsdegree in Computer Science or related field
